My fianc took me to this restaurant on my birthday in December 2009 for a nice steak dinner... or so we thought it would be. We arrived around 6pm and ordered right away. We both chose the steak and shrimp dinner and asked for our steaks to be done medium. As we sat and had a drink while waiting for our meal we watched other customers being seated around us, their orders taken and then we watched as they were served their dinner before us... I checked the time and we realized that almost an hour had gone by and the waiter hadn't been back once! We asked a passing waitress to check on our order and watched as she talked to our waiter (JEFF) and then the manager on duty. Then the manager (GLEN) approached us and told us that our waiter had forgotten to submit our order to the kitchen and said he would request the order immediately and we would receive our dinner free of charge. While he told us all of this it almost seemed as though he found the situation funny...he had a strange sort of smile on his face and made light of the situation - while we were sitting there, starving! We were understanding of the situation and accepted his offer. I ordered another drink and had to wait half an hour to get it because our waiter was now too embarrassed to come back to our table. 45 minutes later, our dinner finally came... and to our dismay the steaks were charcoaled -completely black! There was no shrimp with my steak, and when I attempted to eat a bite it was absolutely horrible and almost inedible! When the manager returned with the shrimp we questioned the quality of the meal he had just served us and he admitted that he wouldn't eat what was on our plates. By this time we had been sitting there for almost two hours, we were starving, I was having the worst birthday ever and this guy Glen was acting like it was nothing, no big deal. Again, he seemed to be amused by the situation. When my fianc started complaining about the meal and other customers were watching the manager asked us to leave - that's right, he said he was kicking us out of the restaurant and to never come back!! He escorted us out and weren't even given the chance to pay for our drinks. It doesn't end here - the guy went to the back door and was watching us walk to our car through the window, my fianc saw this and went up to the door to find out what he was doing and he said he was going to write down our licence plate and call the police since we hadn't paid for our drinks. I told my fianc to give him $20 and let's just go.
This is the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant in my life. I have never been treated like this and we have gone to Montana's many times before and never a complaint before now so in my opinion this guy Glen is the problem. I can forgive the waiter for forgetting, things happen, but for a manager to treat customers that way is absolutely unacceptable, especially considering it was their mistake and we had a right to be upset!
I called back the next day and talked to the kitchen manager who told me he would send us a certificate for another restaurant and I'm still waiting.
Go there quit often and always happy but my last visit this week was terrible.
First we had this waiter (older gentlemen) that was absolutely awful and our ribs were far from usual.
Won't be back there again. Try the one over at Pinecrest Mall.
Addition to last review. The Manager ended up giving them 50% off the meal, free apps, and free desserts. So they definitely tried to make up for their mistakes. Will I go back? No.
Absolutely love it here, best service and best food! I definitely recommend it!
It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time, the service was excellent, Carm was our server, she was so efficient and the food was hot, such a nice change from East Sides and Lone Star
The new southwest fried chicken sandwitch is the best thing I have ever tasted at a restaurant for a long long time! If you haven't tried one stop what your doing and get in there and have one! It will change your life !
Poor. This is for the location in Ottawa on Merivale road, which is near the mcdonalds and across the shawarma place.
First of all I would like to say how bad the service had to be for me to actually go online and let you guys know. My good friend and I came to Montana's on Sunday night around 9:45pm and we were starving. We were happy that Montanas was open. The lady sat us down, idk if she was the only server. When our drinks came my friend didn't like it but that's not a big deal because maybe that was just him. He ordered the pesto pasta(or whatever its called), and I ordered some sort of stir fry with veggies. The picture was nothing like what we actually got. There were no broccoli's on the meal and that was why i actually ordered it. The rice was not cooked. the chicken was the only thing that was good. My friends pasta was burned but we pretended like everything was good. I told him the food that i got was disgusting, but we tried to be positive. When the bill arrived, that's when we realized how shytty the food was. Because how can something so not tasty, not cooked be possibly priced so much? I just don't understand. The server never even checked on us. My friend had to go find her and ask her to bring him a drink. Anyways I am really sorry i had to share this horrible experience but we were really mad how shytty the food was.
